Webster's dictionary describes philanthropy as: -

• an act or instance of deliberative generosity : a contribution made in a spirit of humanitarianism or
• goodwill toward one's fellowmen especially as expressed through active efforts to promote human welfare

In this spirit does the East African company Hana Safaris Adventure contribute towards the social well being of communities in the areas where we offer tour services. For every coin we make in these regions a small percentage goes towards supporting community projects. We dig boreholes, establish orphanages in places where orphans make the greater population and support widows and the disadvantaged.

Among the orphanages we support is one at Budalangi in Western Kenya that caters to children orphanged by the AIDS scourge and children that have been discarded by their parents because of traditional beliefs and other factors. A monthly contribution goes towards the upkeep of these institution.
